Since 1919, the tradition of pheasant hunting has brought friends and family together. Every fall, opening weekend brings unprecedented enthusiasm, excitement, and activity to cities and rural communities across the state. 

Central South Dakota holds Rooster Rush traditions and activities two weeks before the Traditional Pheasant Season starts and the first full week of opener season.
