D & S Campground Lodge & Storage
D & S Campground and Lodge is a great place to stay as it is next to excellent Missouri River fishing which is a mere 10 minutes from our campground. The main fish most commonly caught is walleye. They are extremely good to eat.
The Missouri River has especially great fishing where Lake Oahe and the Moreau River come together in the Swan Creek area. These two rivers improve your chances of catching a trophy fish. Anglers are allowed 4 walleye per day; however, daily limit may include no more than one 20″ or longer walleye in length. No minimum length and possession limit is 8 walleye. It is not uncommon to catch plenty of white bass, catfish, and northern pike in addition to your walleye limit. Check all fish limits in GFP fishing rules and regulations.
We no longer provide guide services for fishing, but will refer some great options for excellent fishing guides to make sure your stay here at our lodge is everything you wanted.
If you feel like the Missouri River is too big for your boat or it’s too windy, there are some options. Spring Lake is a smaller lake nearby you can put your boat on or fish from shore. There are also many other places north and south of Akaska.
